Ronald Reagan

My unit was out in the field Saturday morning when we were told by our C.O. that President Reagan had died. It had an immediate impact.

Now I watch the procession of the President through the Capitol and into the Capital Rotunda. While The Battle Hymn of the Republic was being played I couldn’t keep from crying. When the pall bearers reached the top and turned, and Nancy Reagan, 83 years old and tired, reached out to touch the coffin… I wept.

Ronald Reagan, a man of moral clarity and character. Our country is better off because of you.

Thank you Mr President,
God speed.
