Suppose something negative happens, such a flat tire or termites infest your house or whatever. It is just dumb bad luck that you got it, or if it is from another person, they are intentionally doing it to harm/hurt you. If it happens to other people, however, they get a flat tire because they waited too long to get new tires, or they weren’t doing preventative maintenance on their house, or they deserve the reprimand from someone.Read More Is life fair?
You can call it ‘truth’ all you wish… but it doesn’t make it so. Truth is not merely an emotional state of certainty… there are schizophrenics who are absolutely sure that bugs are crawling under their skin, or the dog is talking to them, but this does not make it true. There are people who are absolutely sure, feeling deep conviction, that their government is corrupt or noble, and this conviction does not mean that it is true. Conviction does not equal knowledge. The streets are filled with firmly convinced people of ignorance.Read More A fault with Creationism
This fear that someone will *get over* on the *system* is fueled by the very real *lack of belief* in the system itself. Because the person believes a little in the BJW system, but not 100%, that seed of doubt is enough to spur them to *take matters in their own hands* and create laws to restrict the healthier options. I wish some of the desire for action would spur these individuals to being at least a little bit compassionate toward the poor. But it is easier to think that both *sluts get pregnant* and *lazy people are on welfare* than it is to look at each case as it is and, at the very least, ask *how would Jesus act if He were standing before this person this very minute?*Read More Abortion and a Just World

Now the reason I say this is that Christianity has lost its soul. What should be a religion fueling ardent democracy, where a community seeks out a full voicing of its constituents, and where people are quick to ‘turn the other cheek’, where when in doubt the impulse is to stretch out the loaves of bread and fish as far as possible has turned into than to take up arms, background checks and doubting everyone’s integrity. What were the core principles of a New Testament of love and compassion has become enamored with Old Testament spite and jealousy.Read More Gays will save the Christian church
Pagans do not need shepherds. Pagans are not a flock. Pagans do not identify with sheep and are not seeking a god to save them. A common saying among pagans is ‘the gods help those who help themselves’.Read More On being a sheep in a flock; pagans and christians
Mac kills PC in so many areas. I find that my workflow crashes to a halt when I have to go into the office and use their Windows systems. I hesitated in downloading any Microsoft programs onto my Mac because I don’t like anything about them, how they are organized. Even using Excel, which is […]Read More Macwriter
Throughout it all, Christ showed the way to love everyone. There will always be someone who offends us or attacks us or seeks to do us harm. Yet it is possible to still love throughout all of this. The Church is the embodiment of this principle.Read More My attack on Christians… unless you are one.
